E2500
[dd-wrt.v24-33345_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega.bin]
Previous r33215M
Reset
veddy berry BAD -- he goes into a bootloop
Try recover w/TFTP ... got just few seconds at power on to hit it.
Tried using [dd-wrt.v24-33215_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e2500.bin]
It went but wouldn't boot so then sent [FW_E2500_1.0.04.001_US_20111226.bin]
Sent firmware to it in every way you can imagine ---
Damn thing still won't boot -- slow blinking power light.
Guess I'll have to crack it open
And yea the dd-wrt.v24-33215_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e2500.bin installs just fine over stock
firmware ... it's a good build on all my units, QCA & BRCM
Yeah, from what I am seeing 33215 seems very stable and good. Keep noticing that is the one most have reverted back to when having issues with the 2 or 3 revisions that came after it (33006 seems very good too).
Dying to want to try it on my D-Link 880L, but I only have one of them and that router model and it's cousins as you know, have been bricking just over a year now A user here said he got it to work well on 3 out of 4 880Ls but I am still nervous to try. Uhhg lol.

Didn't some report wireless issues though? I need to see what models those were...

I've hacked together a working build mirroring the 33345 release in the DD-WRT website for the D-Link DIR-868L and this file should work for the DIR-880L router as well.

On E3000, I'm seeing some random drops and even reboots with 33215, not even sure that wireless has anything to do with it, whereas the router had rock-solid stability with many previous builds. There also seems to be a serious bug on the 2.4GHz range, where setting channel to Auto will ignore 20MHz setting and select a bad channel combo, like 6+8, completely killing throughput. Nevertheless, if you need/want SFE, for now this seems like the best alternative. At least there is no boot loop.

Affected 802.11ac functions only? No problem with 802.11n? _________________ Router: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)

No, I didn't, and thanks a bunch for that, because i was aware of Quark's work on that and didn't see his post. Best news in a long time I know someone who owns 4 of my router model, so I'll let him know to test that out asap.

Blue, what do you mean, exactly? How do you know it is ignoring 20MHZ? And when you say "selecting", is it literally putting the setting to 6 or 8 or are you able to tell via some other method?
Those settings look ok to you? Should I actually be using the 40MHZ (Wide HT40)? Is there a drawback to that and 20Mhz is what should be used? Wireless works perfectly with 40MHZ for me, haven't noticed a single slowdown/spike/drops, etc. So i figured if it aint broke, don't fix it
The 5ghz Wifi dosnt have a password and any encryption! I cant disable the wifi too.
This is a very bad security hole!
Are you saying you can do those for 2.4 GHz, but not 5 GHz? If so, you need to do a reset; GUI reset first, if that doesn't work, try the reset button, if that doesn't work, do an `erase nvram` from telnet or GUI commands -if that is safe for your router model-. Cuz otherwise, as mwchang indicated, set Wireless Network Mode to 'Disabled', and the encryption and password are set on the Wireless Security page.
Router Model: Asus RT-AC87U
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r33345 std (09/11/17)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.87 #2015 SMP Mon Sep 11 07:56:13 CEST 2017 armv7l
Previous build: native AsusWRT
Reset: no first try, yes second time - after flashing.
Errors/problems: quantenna's 5Ghz 802.11ac not working, only 802.11n.
Even if I select AC-Only, all clients connect in N-mode. With AsusWRT I had 433Mbps with my mi5s phone, here i got 300Mbps only at maximum.

I too have this issue unless I set the mode to AC/N-Mixed. Then my devices will connect at AC speeds. Also for what it is worth, this bug appears to be present in all dd-wrt builds.

No success here with AC/N. My mi5s and tp-link t4u wi-fi dongle will connect whatever combination of wireless security, channel width (40mhz), and channel combination i put in dd-wrt, but iphone 5s won't. It will connect only 20mhz width and WPA2-Personal and only some combinations of wi-fi channels. For iphone 5s i had to enable 2.4ghz now, and only there it works good. If I swhitch to 40Mhz width (5Ghz) with WPA2-Personal AES, iphone sees AP but constant error after entering password - incorrect password. So unless we have channel selection for quantenna and its 5ghz some devices won't connect. And dongle and mi5s connect only in N-mode.
Hi,
I recently spotted issue with dd-wrt.v24-*****_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega_RT-N66U.trx beta.
I have kept upgrading my Asus RT-N66U for about a year or more with latest FW.
Issues have started with:
08-22-2017-r33180 [update (via Administration-> Firmware upgrade) puts Asus into reboot loop and router requires safe mode recovery to previous stable version] then 08-25-2017-r33215 works stable but newer versions 08-29-2017-r33257, 09-09-2017-r33342, 09-11-2017-r33345 putting Asus into reboot loop again.
Anybody has a clue what may be wrong?
