Netgear r7800

My son gave me his r7800 which is flashed with DD-WRT v3.0-r29695M  as i have no idea how to set this up.Is it possible to restore to netgear factory setting. I have tried ddwrt-to-netgear-fw-R7800.bin but,when i check http://192.168.1.1 it still shows dd-wrt control panel not netgear. as you can tell im clueless on this subject i would appreciate any help

This thread should go into Atheros section. Also change the title since it's not helpful, add something like can't revert to stock at the end.

That firmware is a bit old and immature for that router. I would flash 31240 from Kong resetting to factory default before and after flashing. And the try again with the bin file for going to factory.

So in summary:
1- go to administration - commands and issue erase nvram && reboot (this resets the values stored in the nvram, in my experience is more trustworthy than reset to factory default option in GUI)
2- flash 31240 with reset to factory default option or same thing as step 1 as you wish
3- flash ddwrt to netgear bin file
