The workaround works for me on Buffalo WHR-G54S. When is it going to be fixed for real though?
Has this issue been addressed?

Setting the wireless mode back to AP and disabling the broadcast and then changing it back works for me too!

Please see bugtracker

Has this been resolved yet?
If so, in which firmware revision did it start working again?

Thanks

I'm interested if this has been resolved also, In my case I have two virtual SSID's and would like one hidden and one broadcast. The work around posted here will hide/broadcast "all" of the interfaces globally.

AFAIK, this has been resolved for some time now.

I have been using the latest EKO svn builds since August and have never encountered this issue.

FWIW, I disable SSID broadcast on all of my units just because.

hpsenicka, using ecko's 11207_NEWD_std-nokaid from 12/15 it is still nonfunctional. If you have a working version I'd love to grab a copy and give it a shot.

Still broken (needs workaround to go to AP mode) in 11296.

So your saying you disabled SSID broadcast and it no longer shows up in your list.....it didn't for me.

I just checked 11650 VINT and 11659 NEWD builds....both toggled the button to disable for the SSID broadcast....but they continued to broadcast.

I removed my profile for the SSID in question....and refreshed my list....it still shows up.

If I get time, I'll go back to a 11296 build later and try that build...but I don't have high hopes that it will work with that build either.

barryware...specifically...which build of 11296 did you use and on what router model.

[EDIT] - or did you mean the workaround is still working in 11296.

11926 micro+ on a V5. I'll do it again when I get home. The V5 is gone though. I'll have to do it on a V8

So was this the workaround tested...or did you just disable the SSID of the virtual only.

I'm confused... is it only certain modes that are affected by this bug?

I haven't encountered this issue in AP mode.

Most of the devices I am using are WRT54GL running svn10776.

OK...I get the same results with 11296 as I did with the 11650 and 11659 builds.

I can NOT just disable the SSID on the virtual. It continues to broadcast.

However, if you use rxhitman's work-around....you can disable the broadcast of the SSID of the virtual.

So...it is still broken...but the work-around still works.

Tested on V5 with 11296 micro+

Maybe I am not understanding correctly. You guys are talking about a virtual and I was talking about the physical. I just paid a quick visit at lunch time to my V5.

In wireless settings, the basic setup page, there is an option to enable or disable ssid broadcast.

I disabled it, save, apply settings. The router rebooted but it did not affect the "uptime".

Fired up my wireless laptop and the network was not listed in available wireless networks. I could connect to it by specifying the ssid.

Shut down the laptop, changed the router to enable the ssid broadcast, save, apply, the router rebooted again.

Fired the laptop back up, looked at available wireless networks and it was again seen.

Then I disabled it again, disconnected the laptop from it, looked at available wireless networks, and it was gone.

Barryware... your experience with physical SSID's mirrors mine exactly... with every build I have tried.

As for virtual SSID's .. I haven't a clue... never tried one.
