Hello everyone.

So I have decided to try out DD-WRT firmware on my RT-N66u.
Reading through the guide lines, I have become slightly confused on how to perform the procedure.

I downloaded the recommended build from the database
1. dd-wrt.v24-24461_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_RT-N66U
2. unplugged all cables, except power.
3. did the 30/30/30 hard reset
but it's like it just goes into recovery-mode.
4. just to check if its not bricked, I tried shutting it down and restart again.
5. the router just continues on the old setup

How do I get past the "updating setting page", so I can load the new firmware. ?

Thanks Smile

Hi

I have same model router and installed various dd-wrt builds. Have noticed on recent builds (27360, 27453) , that I needed to do the following to update FW.

- 30-30-30
- Install FW, - wait for 5-6 mins after initiating FW upgrade. Takes about 2-3 mins for GUI to come back but I leave longer to ensure all ram updating is done.
- 30-30-30
- power cycle using on/off switch
- trying to connect over LAN ports didn't work for me at this point but I can connect over WiFi.
- Connect to 192.168.1.1 & Update name and Password ==> save/apply
- customize as desired (and LAN ports are back)

Hope this helps.

thanks for the advice.
But the main issue was me, not understanding the
    WPS button/Clear NVRAM
    RESET button/recovery mode.

I mananage to install the newest release, by using static PC IP and ASUS firmware tool.

everything seems ok.
