So I want to revert to stock, current setup:

DDWRT - 9/11/2017 build

So I flashed the img file from linksys official firmware for WRT1900ACSv2 and not its no longer working.

The router still powers ON, wifi (2.4) is on with wireless name MarvellAP10 but I cannot connect as its stucked on Obtaining IP.

Did I just brick the router and considered as unusable? Any help would be much appreciated.

UPDATE:

I did this:

Quote:
Power off router with power switch.
Turn power back on and Power LED will light.
As soon as all LEDs turn off (~2s), power off router with power switch
Turn power back on and Power LED will light.
As soon as all LEDs turn off (~2s), power off router with power switch
Turn power back on and Power LED will light.
As soon as all LEDs turn off (~2s), power off router with power switch
Turn power back on and allow router to fully boot.
It should now be booted to the alternate firmware

And it seems working, but I have read this from here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=287813

I read somewhere to upgrade to a newer build you should return back to the stock firmware and upgrade from there rather than using the DD-WRT interface so you don't overwrite the partition stock is on. Doing so would make it harder to recover the unit in the event of misconfiguration or if a setting bricks the unit.

And it seems I have totally wrecked the other partition (for stock) as I have installed initially 3/27/2017 build and then did an upgrade to 9/11/2017 via DDWRT instead of the stock partition.

I would appreciate if anyone could help out of this. Thanks! [/code]

You're ok. You just have DD-WRT on both partitions.

About two months ago give or take, Brainslayer added the Return to Stock feature to all new DD-WRT builds, however, you are not the first to have trouble.

A reset before and after should solve this and allow the Linksys Firmware to install properly from the DD-WRT GUI.

Also, you can use Telnet or SSH to switch between partitions more easily.

That's what I thought. Initially I didn't restore to factory defaults before flashing the router with LINKSYS Official Firmware.

So just to make sure, I will do a factory reset via DDWRT and then install the Latest Linksys Firmware for WRT1900ACSv2 (via Administration -> Firmware Upgrade), correct?

Thanks again man for the help.

Correct. After you reset just load the Linksys Firmware as you would a DD-WRT upgrade.

Good luck! Mr. Green

Since no further help messages/questions I guess I would assume it did work.

That is one of my pet peeves, folks who get things fixed, but do not update with what they did.
