Hey guys.
I just purchased Linksys WRT3200ACM hardware and was wondering what is the most stable release I should be using?
Also, as a rule of thumb, is the latest release the most stable / best release to use for any router, or is there a way to determine what is the most stable release is?

Thank you.
you're new, so welcome but let me encourage you to do some research. your question has been responded to many times.
in a nutshell, we're all beta testers and in theory every new release improves on the previous - key word there is theory. still, we support our main programmer and provide feedback.
that said, the current (r33413) is the most stable release so far. mind you, it's only been out about a week but for me, it's also the best in as much as i'm finally getting the appropriate speeds per each radio - the 5ghz band is finally faster than 2.4! wired has always been good. now if you get fancy with qos or vpn to name a couple, your mileage may vary.
it has been reported that some features which are available with the stock/oem firmware are not there for us due to driver differences. links provides the driver for openwrt, dd-wrt, etc and let's just say that they could be a bit more fastidious.
so go check out the sticky tutorial if u haven't done so already. _________________ asus rt-ac86u stock: 3.0.0.4.384_45149

128bit, thank you for your reply.
I am a strong believer in "RTFM" before asking questions, and I did spend several hours searching the forums. But apparently wasn't asking right questions and did not find definitive answers to my questions. I already went through sticky and few other useful posts regarding this model.
Thanks again.

Searched for WRT3200ACM, got to the page saying it was supported, clicked each link for the factory-to-ddwrt and then the update, and both of them reported "file not found" like so:
*Make sure to find your router's Model Number and the correct Hardware Version (if applicable) before you download & install. _________________ DD-WRT Installation & Setup TUTORIAL http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=311117
