Hi guys,

I have limited (almost none) idea about this networking but I really appreciate how complicated it can be and how a valuable skill it is in these days. The answer might be somewhere in the forum but I couldn't find it yet. Well I have a NAS drive connected to the DD WRT router through LAN, and DD WRT is connected to the main router by DD WRT's WAN port to one of main router's LAN port.

I can access the NAS when I'm wirelessly connected to the DD WRT but I want to make the NAS visible to the all devices connected that are connected to the main router.

Do you guys know how to do this?

Thanks

What model router do you have?
What version of DD-WRT are you on?
What Wireless Mode is the DD-WRT router in?

Here’s some helpful links to get you started:

If I understand correctly you have a LAN<>WAN connection so you are on different subnets and daisy chained your routers.
Maybe that is not the best solution, it is easier to use your secondary routers as a WAP so that your secondary router is on the same subnet. See: https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Access_Point
Basically disable DHCP on the second router and connect LAN<>LAN

If you do not want this then you have to link the subnets and open up the firewall on the secondary router see attached doc file

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply.

I just drew my current setup, sorry for the bad drawing. I hope it is more clear.

Router: ModelGL.iNet-AR150
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r30082 std (07/01/16)
Kernel VersionLinux 3.18.36 #14162 Fri Jul 1 05:08:26 CEST 2016 mips
I need to check the "Wireless Mode" of the DD-WRT router in. But as you see at the image, I do have an OPENVPN running at the DDWRT which is working but I can not access the NAS via LAN from the TV or desktop from the main router. I tried this with turning off the OPENVPN, it is the same.

As expected when I'm connected to the DDWRT wirelessly I can see the NAS drive at my network connections. But this is not happening either via wireless or lan from the main router.

Help will be appreciated.

The drawing contains no ip addresses.

It must be different on the lan and wan side i.e 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1

You have probably set the dd-wrt router as "gateway" with NAT enabled. That will prevent access from the wan to the lan.

Set the router in "router" mode with NAT off. That requires a static route on the main router to the sub-net on the lan side of router 2.
