PureVPN despite their "no logging" claims does log and collect usage & user information

Apparently they not only keep information on users activity, but also will release that info.

Difficult case to make, either way. I could argue both points.

On one hand - I’m glad they will be able to prosecute for cyberstalking. One example of how Laws are slowly catching up with technology.

On the other hand - the obvious privacy concerns.

Tech. companies like Google, Facebook & Twitter are becoming too powerful. Too many people are freely handing over their privacy for the sake of convenience. Myself included.

The privacy policy says that it does keep logs of connection time/duration, and bandwidth used during that time.

Their no logging claim is that the activity for that connection time is not logged; Meaning that they do not record the connections made during the connection duration.
They also specify that they do cooperate with investigations.

While the case is reprehensible... [Making false bomb/fire/rape threats could cause emergency services to verify sources before taking action. This will cost time, money, and lives] I'm not sure PureVPN violated its customer agreement.
Also, as a result, the law may get a new focus on VPN's and start mandating that more and more logs are kept.

The release of the iPhone X can only mean one thing:

Apple must have all the fingerprints they need. Now they want 3D scans of everyone’s face.
