Does any one know how to auto connect openvpn in dd wrt . I've entered and saved my VPN client settings settings on http://192.168.1.1 -> Services -> VPN. When clicking "Apply Settings" on that same page, the client starts and connects immediately. Under Status -> OpenVPN it says State: Client: CONNECTED SUCCESS as expected and I can browse the internet with my VPN's IP.
However, if I reboot or power cycle the router, the OpenVPN client fails to start. I have to manually start it either by simply clicking the Apply settings button again iam with pia firmware asus rtac68u c1

Add the following to the Additional Config box.
*One per line

persist-key
persist-tun
persist-remote-ip

Then click Apply Settings

iam using these lines as instructions given by pia and also my router was ac66u which i used firmware of ac68u now it has been changed to ac68u c1 on dd wrt do i have to upgrade? something?

I’m not quite following you. Are you saying your router is an Asus ac66u, but you installed the firmware for the ac68u?

Did you try adding persist-remote-ip ?
Also, do you have any other commands applied such as a 'kill switch'?

*Before upgrading firmware I would recommend reading what other Forum members who own your model are reporting about latest builds. Just to be safe.

Sorry I’m not very familiar with PIA, but the above posted 'additional config' commands should work regardless of VPN Provider.

I use PIA and have no problems reconnecting.
What build are you using?
I am not sure about the latest build, a stable build seems 33215.

The recommended settings by PIA should work, I use the following for PIA UDP (a lot of the recommended settings are already in place by default):

In the additional config of the openVPN, but I doubt if this will work. I did not have any problem with the settings you have already used and are recommended by PIA.
So it could be a build issue and you then have to use a newer build or it could be a configuration error.

So the question remains what build are you using?

Second question what does the openVPN status screen shows when you have rebooted?

It sometimes helps to specify the IP address of the PIA server instead of the name, DNS does sometimes not resolve in time.

aim newbie i dont know how to check build version if its old how i can upgrade ? when i reboot the router is says nothing just bland page when i connect manually its shows logs i have attached some pictures please see attachment
