update with asus firmware repair utility, nothing else works - ddup aborts , with message linux2 not found, webflash gives no errors but does nothing
5ghz 11ac cannot go past 360mbps connection - this is the fastest setting with regulatory domain USA, european domains are just 300mbps connect
openvpn works fine
just did some basic testing, just happy that ea6400 works at all, with asuswrt-merlin (chinese version for ea6400) 5ghz doesnt work at all ...
does anyone have any advice how to speed up 5ghz , the device is supposed to support 1300mbps
You have an alternative CFE, ddup or GUI does not know that and wants to write to the linux2 partition (which is the standard linksys partiton), but there is not one anymore.
For Kong builds you can telnet to your router and use:

this checks and download the file. Choose N so you do not write the file (which is downloaded to that directory as fw.bin), next:
@egc "ddup –-flash-latest" doesnt work aswell , message : EA6400 not supported , well i can upgrade with asus firmware rescue utility just fine , so no problem ...
i have various 802.11ac clients here which support 867 and 1300 mbps at 80 and 160mhz channel bandwidth with broadcom, qualcomm and realtek chipset ... all dont work at higher speed than 360mbps. it seems the limit and max transfer speed lan->wlan is about 23mbyte/sec which translates into about 260mbps NET speed which is actually realistic for a 40mhz(?) 360mbps connection
well, the original firmware was real crappy, so i am happy anyways
