DNS Setting Recommendations

I just recently flashed my Netgear R700 to use DNSCrypt on it. I think I have it setup correctly turned on in Services and using Adguard DNS 1. Some others don't seem to work as it cuts my internet connection on my desktop. Is that Adguard DNS my primary? What happens to the ones listed in the DHCP Static IP's, are those not used? I need to setup a non logging DNS like OpenNIC etc and not default to my ISP's DNS. Any help would be appriciated thanks.

DNScypt is NTP time dependent, so no time no DNSCrypt working....
There is a list of DNSCrypt servers and you choose one and this is it, if it goes down for some reason you don't have DNS so you have to choose manually another, or choose the most stable ones...
Once DNSCrypt is selected the server you select overrides all DNS settings in WAN Connection Type so no ISP DNS
hits are possible...
Choose DNSCrypt servers based on syslog messages and operating time.... some support DNSSEC, some are transparent and some are not that useful you decide for yourself...

Thanks! I had problems with Adguard DNS so I went back to using the DNSCyrpt.eu Holland which is what I was using before with Simple DNSCrypt in Windows. It seems to work with Validate DNS Replies (DNSSEC), but since I am not familiar, do you have to enable Cache DNSSEC data and set a limit command on Cache size in Additional DNSMasq Options?

I just setup a VPN client in Windows and its working fine. Will my router settings interact with VPN or do I need to disable anything in the DNSCrypt\DNSec settings. I don't want to setup VPN directly on router because some stuff won't work, but I still want the other devices to use DNScrypt.

I found some DNS Leak on https://ipleak.net/ where occasionally it shows 1 of my routers DNSCrypt address. I am not sure if its at the routers end or windows.
