Confused Why is my WRT1900AC v1 cpu speed only showing 600Mhz ?
when it should be 1600Mhz

my WRT1200AC shows the proper cpu speed...

Thought the v1 were 1.2ghz, from memory i think they step also run a speed check and keep eye on cpu speed status > cpu clock

Well that's what they are supposed to do, although I'm not sure that I've ever seen DR-WRT report 1.2GHz CPU for the WRT1900AC v1, at least not in recent builds. I just put it down to a GUI bug?

it looks like the Cpu driver might Not be stet up properly...

Hence the report of only 600Mhz not 1200Mhz

and the cpu clock Is scalable.
but DDwrt does Not support this ?
Openwrt does.

I recently upgraded from r38347 -> r38381

Upon the reboot all worked well and all devise re-connected.

What I noticed was the CPU speed at 1200 and usage 100% and the temperature at 55C.

I was suspicious of these readings as the ambient temperature at this particular router is -30C

Eventually I did a "Apply Settings" CPU Speed 600 and the usage dropped to < 1% and temperatures CPU 16.1 °C / WL0 6.3 °C / WL1 11.4 °C

So as per the previous comments, don't believe all you see, depend on the performance of the unit. It seems to me that this has risen before and my understanding is the 1900 V1 will automatically adjust speed to the load requirements. Even though I am loading the unit quite heavily with clients and communication via WDS to my Master, it is only minor CPU usage.
