I am trying to log on to my WRT54G V6 (dd-wrt.v24) from the outside.
It is currently being used as an access point on my network here at work (WAN and DHCP is disabled). I want to be able to log on to it to use WOL feature to wake up my work PC when I'm on the road or at home.
The main router on the network is a router provided with our FIOS business service (No WOL feature). I would love to dump the FIOS router and use a DD-WRT router as the main router. However we have 50Mbit down 20Mbit up (awesome) connection and so far I haven't found a DD-WRT capable router than can handle those speeds.
So my question is: How do I set up forwarding on the main router to the DD-WRT router so I can log onto the router remotely. Remember remote access is not an option since WAN is disabled on that router, nothing is plugged into the WAN port.

I was hoping it would have been that easy. Didn't work though :(
I tried using DMZ on the main router to the DD-WRT with no luck either. Is there any way to change the port on the DD-WRT router to something other than 80? My FIOS router possibly might not like port 80

The dd-wrt AP needs to have the gateway address of the fios router's LAN ip for it to be accessible from outside via DMZ or port forward. Port 80 should be fine all the way through. _________________ http://69.175.13.131:8015 Streaming Week-End Disco. Station Ripper V 1.1 will do.

It's more likely that Verizon is blocking port 80.
To change the port httpd uses, login via telnet/ssh and type:

nvram set http_lanport=##
nvram set wd_httpport=##
nvram commit
(I'm assuming that the second one is the port that watchdog will look at to check to see if the http server is still running. I just thought I should revive this thread. I decided to try this again without having any luck a few months ago. This time it worked I used GeeTek's suggestion and changed the gateway to match the Verizon router and changed the ports as suggested by jmh9072. Opened the correct ports on the VZ router and worked like a charm! Don't know why I couldn't get it working before. Great work guys. Only took me 3 months later to "sleep" on it and get it working!
