Hi all,

I use latest dd-wrt on my netgear wnr834b. After it had made me some problems (the WAN connection dropped too frequently, although the WNR is connected to the i-net via another router, but even this one was unreachable => it must be the WNR), I tried to reinstall the original Netgear FW using tftp -i command; the FW got transmitted OK, but the power LED stays orange all time Sad
But if I then use the tftp trick again, I can reflash the ddwrt image.

Can anyone point me to what is happenin' here?

Marco

PS: When I go over the web upgrade in dd-wrt to reinstall orig. FW, the connection resets (of Firefox) and nothin' else happens Sad

I know the problem via serial consol.
Do this use any orginal FW, rename wnr834bv1_1_0_4_2_ww.img to wnr834bv1_1_0_4_2_ww.zip
and open with WinRAR unpack WNR834B.bin to ... This will make the router to start in rescue mode,
use Linksys TFTP and upload WNR834B.bin and wait 5 min rename wnr834bv1_1_0_4_2_ww.zip
to wnr834bv1_1_0_4_2_ww.img
restart router and use use Linksys TFTP to upload wnr834bv1_1_0_4_2_ww.img
wait 5 min, make hard rest of router.

NICE!

Firmware upload was successful.
But I cannot access the web interface, it refuses both "password" and my normal password, even after resetting through HW switch.

I also have wnr834b (v2). I would like to go back to stock. Could you explain this step by step plz? I've only used the web interface (which won't work) and I haven't been able to get tftp to work. Thanks

get Netgear's firmware, rename it to .bin and strip all bytes before HDR0 (first 19 bytes) with some hex editor.
