Hi all,

I am trying to flash a D-Link DIR 878 with the latest release (factory-to-ddwrt.bin) I found here [https://ftp.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2022/10-05-2022-r50357/dlink-dir878-a1/]. When I try to load the .bin file in the Web interface I get the error as attached.

What I am doing:
- disabled any firewall/antivirus
- connecting through Ethernet, Wireless disabled
- updated OEM firmware to the latest release 1.30
- tried to reset beforehand
- tried other releases

Do you have any idea as to why I can't make the update work?

You have to downgrade the stock firmware to a pre-crypto version, preferably the oldest:

DIR-878 can't install DD-WRT

D-Link DIR-878 A1 Support

You will probably need a vintage version of Firefox / FF Portable or Edge/IE in IE8 compatibility mode. Excuse further links, my spoon inventory is low and I have exceeded my keystroke count for today.
