Be careful with using the on demand governor on K6.1.

There is a possible problem with cache coherency when the CPU switches which can cause reboots.

Linux 6.1.62 #44 SMP Mon Nov 13 07:34:10 +07 2023 armv7l
'bout same as other k6.1 builds
OVPN server works good -- connected to it fine via phone
When tried to access either samba share from desktop it went into forever bootloop...
...serial showed it even erase nvram but still stuck in bootloop on k6.1
Had to get on power switch to force boot back to part 2 ...good'ol r53562
nvram backup and all is well again although just 'bout enough this shit Neutral

EDIT:
alright then here is its log
install done by scp 'firmware.bin'

@mrjcd Looking at the partition tables between r53562 and r54079 I noticed some differences.

The k6.1 includes an extra partition: rootfs_data which is not present on k4.9. Also, that particular partition ends at the same address space as the ddwrt partition: 0x000008000000. No idea if this could be problematic or not, just an observation.

Partition layout changes may require serial flash of factory-to-ddwrt.img* file vice flashing back to stock as I already alluded to in the other thread? Has anyone gone this route? Maybe the split partition info is the problem...

EA8500 and other models not booting after 53562 builds

* edit: removed confusing reference to .bin files

Yes, I have tried flashing the factory-to-ddwrt.img several times with several different images.
All these images in fact.
Code:

/var/lib/tftpboot/EA8500-factory-to-ddwrt-53714.img
/var/lib/tftpboot/EA8500-factory-to-ddwrt-53763.img
/var/lib/tftpboot/EA8500-factory-to-ddwrt-53815.img
/var/lib/tftpboot/EA8500-factory-to-ddwrt-53833.img
/var/lib/tftpboot/EA8500-factory-to-ddwrt-53843.img

Seems to not make any difference in the partition layout. However, I am guessing this split partition or the partition layout itself has something to do with our issues. I am going to look at some mtd headers and see if something is corrupted.

Router/Version: Netgear R7800 x 3
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r54079 std (11/17/23)
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r53939 std (11/09/23), no reset this time
Mode/Status: Gateway (SFE disabled), Access Point (VANILLA firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r), IPV6 (DHCP6 w/ prefix delegation), Entware, DOT/DOH via SmartDNS/DNSMasq, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server, performance govenor + 2 wired access points (VANILLA firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r), performance govenor
Issues/Errors:
Up 10.5 hours. USB 3.0 and 2.0 both working properly. Wireguard and OpenVPN working as expected. Speed (tested via nPerf.com) is as expected, both wired and wireless. No random reboots, everything has been solid.

Glad to see OpenVPN was updated as there were some serious zero-days in 2.6.6.

Thanks Devs.
