Attempted an upgrade from r53815 to r54420 (I seen a few Netgear r7500`s made it with mixed results and I know they are similar). No JOY. resulted in an endless boot loop. I was able to recover from that rather easily and found myself back at r53562. I'll won`t junk up the build thread with questions about this but ask on another thread. _________________ ......All GOOD here... Just Handshakes and Time Stamps !......

Router/Version: Netgear R7800 x 3
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r54420 std (12/04/23)
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r54203 std (11/27/23), no reset this time
Mode/Status: Gateway (SFE disabled), Access Point (VANILLA firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r), IPV6 (DHCP6 w/ prefix delegation), Entware, DOT via SmartDNS/DNSMasq, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server, performance govenor + 2 wired access points (VANILLA firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r), performance govenor
Issues/Errors:
Up 21 hours. USB 2.0 working properly. Wireguard and OpenVPN working as expected. Speed (tested via nPerf.com) is as expected, both wired and wireless.
Speed (tested via nPerf.com) is as expected, both wired and wireless.
By "as expected" do you mean that speed under k6.1 is now same as k4.9 previously?
Is this with or without SFE?
With WireGuard or OpenVPN?
Just trying to clarify.
My internet speed here is too low to be impacted by these factors - it's officially a 75/10 plan, but will go to 100/20 in February.
Still, curious. _________________ ------------------------------------

By "as expected" I mean that it matches what my ISP advertises, more or less. Verizon advertises 500/500, and nPerf averages 500/510 wired, 480/420 wireless. SFE is off on the new kernel, but speeds are similar to what I was getting under the old kernel with SFE on. Upload over wireless was faster with SFE on (averaged around 460), so I think the ISP is the limiting factor.
I have VPN turned on but only as a server, not as a client. I'm testing from my laptop, connected to my phone's hotspot. Both Wireguard and OpenVPN route internet through the tunnel. I get similar speeds when connected to either VPN that I would when going straight through the phone. _________________ __________________________

Thank you, dpp3530.
I can only dream of 500/500 speed here...
No need for SFE here.
My EA8500/WRT3200ACM/XR500 can cope with 75Mbps when using OpenVPN Client.
Will see how they go with 100Mbps in February. _________________ ------------------------------------

Your EA8500 can easily do 1Gb down. I have a 1Gb connection and with r53562 I average about 960Mb/s down and 54Mb/s up. So just slightly shy of the advertised specs. The upload is the limit from my ISP. _________________ Linksys EA8500 (Internet Gateway, AP/VAP) - DD-WRT r53562
