Hello,

I had wireguard working fine on my E3000 for a few days, but then stopped. When I checked the status, it had a 37 minute old handshake, so I restarted, but no connection now. OVPN still works fine.

Can anyone help with an idea of what went wrong? Maybe set up the watchdog?

Basic information:

• Current DD-WRT build number in use: r54569
• Router brand / model: Linksys E3000
• Include operating & wireless modes e.g. WL0: AP WL1: Station (client)

First thing I would try.

Tried the watchdog, didn't seem to help.

Syslog snippet attached, I'm not recognizing any obvious source of an issue.

WG status attached, just no data.

I've tried it with and without OVPN running in parallel, neither time was I able to get through on WG.

Double-check your configs against latest guides. I presume that KeepSolid does not provide a client config file?

WireGuard guides and documentation

It does, and I used that client config file for the initial setup. Worked well for 2 or 3 days, then stopped working (no config changes).

I think the issue is a failed VPN server at KeepSolid - I double checked their server list and the server I was using is no longer on their list. Awesome! I'll follow up on that, and then close this thread as resolved once that is confirmed (then read up on fail over tunnels).

The label on your config (keepsolid) pointed to the plausible cause.

I have a lifetime subscription to keepsolid I got for $30 , you get what you pay for.

This happens all the time with keepsolid, server down overloaded etc the only thing which helps is deleting this tunnel making a new config at keepsolid and importing this again and then hope it will work for some time.

So I now hardly ever use keepsolid any more but I use Mullvad which is much better (but more expensive Sad )

The OpenVPN from keepsolid is better, it is the WG servers which often stop after a couple of days.

Just confirming the issue was at Keep Solid - they responded to my request quite quickly, server came back online and then it worked again with a new config as egc suggested.
