redboot :
>fis create linux
==>can't program region at 0xa8720000 : unknown error
from :

im wondering about :
a/ for old stuff, is it possible to have free license, or to use them as ap+sta without license?
b/ the ddwrt stops everytime at step 14.
c/ is it possible to run openwrt (with 8MB flash) on it? how to install it?
i just know how to compile it, but im nooob with flash and im wondering if i just have to replace the linux.bin by something of Ath25 or even that one on it?

Pretty sure the answer is NO.

Which file specifically are you trying to flash?

This is not the OpenWRT forum. This forum is specifically for discussing DD-WRT topics, per forum rules and guidelines.

Well, you picked a thread that I seemed to remember after the fact, but let me help you focus:

Test images, read from here, esp. @lexridge's post about how to get it to update. You can revert to the older image linux.bin file and webflash from there, but should be able to use the linux.bin from the current release. BrainSlayer sums up the problem:
BrainSlayer wrote:
if course you need to know how to use redboot commandline before flashing. just fix create linux does not work if the new file is bigger than the old partition. you need to recreate the partition and more important you need to erase is first. the programming error is raised since the block wasnt erased before writing

And there is a huge chance that you picked the wrong linux.bin file to flash.

Once it reboots, you should be on r50443

If you used the router database, then you downloaded a bad file, most likely.

Serial console is definitely advised should anything go awry with whichever path you take.
