Even if VPN help service know they are wrong, they will make you believe they are right...
VPN + DNS=you provide them with more free data to speculate with it, not that they cannot see where you going anyway...but make them work for it...and use encrypt DNS inside the VPN channel..
In fact they run on their DNS variety of ad/malware blockers and monitor/block some malicious DNS activities indeed, but i still would like to use my own DNS(options) and that's it...
Don't get me wrong...if you trust/like your VPN, use their DNS if so...my ISP keeps telling me that too... my VPN even told me i need to disable the inbound firewall..as they cant see my device... _________________ Atheros

I understand.. but how can I set up encrypted DNS in DD-WRTR?
