I´m exploring the possibility with dd-wrt and vlan/wlan to keep IoT stuff sandboxed but it seems I need some help after some serious headbutting.
I couldn´t install this build directly because the lan would crap out directly after flashing, I had to initially install a waay older build that worked ootb and then the 55009 build would work. That was the first issue.
Now when I try to do _anything_ on the Switch Config tab in the attachment provided both the wlan & lan craps out on me. This happens even if I just "save" and "Apply settings" in the tab, no other settings made. Am I stuck using older builds?

Initial build dd-wrt.v24-15501_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini.bin

Working with Vlan set up, requires patience, waiting, understanding and couple of reboots...it never failed on me...

If the page is corrupt and doesn't show up correctly...try reset and start from the scratch..
Enabling vlans(switch config page) also may require few reboots..to start with..
Also i have to admit...there is also a way to build your vlan set up via swconfig commands via start up script ... so, there is an alternative way too... Laughing

Also, instead of save and apply, try save and reboot Wink

Maybe I´m misunderstanding your instructions for this particular build, however, I gave build 33555 a go for the WNR3500L
https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2017/10-20-2017-r33555/broadcom_K26/
and wlan, vlan, & lan now work as expected Very Happy

33555 is a quite old build...i hope you are not using it for a serious stuff..as this build not that is very old, but seriously lacks of security updates..anyway...you know what you are doing.. Cool

if WEB interface is buggy:
-you can reboot the httpd service
-you can try clearing your browser cache
-try to reset router and manually reconfigure...
-when you reset and enabled Switch Config interface in order to appear correctly,
it may require a few reboots..
-same is when you add vlans, bridges and ect.
-save and reboot, could be a touch better than save and apply...
if those web interface errors continue to occur than..it is a more likely a bug...(it could be)
Cool

Thanks for your input/advice Very Happy
Staying below 46604 does not produce the aforementioned disconnects...could be something to do with the implementation of swconfig & the 3500L ?...just a hunch

This has been defective for a long time on old devices with little memory.

It no longer works on the WRT54 devices either and there is no "swconfig" program on the devices.

ho1Aetoo It could be broken only on wnr3500l in particular mini builds...

Also it has 2 versions, one has 8MB the other has 126MB flash..

I can confirm on the 8MB 1043v2 those worked the last time i tried..55009
and it also has swconfig...so, not all 8MB flash size routers are affected...

I presume this is a V1, and not a V2, and the only reason to use K26 builds is cosmetic (K3X identifies it as WRT54G*). You can use the mega K26 or mega K3X on this router provided it is not over a certain size. K3X should have swconfig and working Switch Config / VLANs tab, though:

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/browser/src/router/configs/broadcom_K3x/.config_mega.v24-K26-wnr3500
