no reset
previous 55914
Status - race / crash
Services - USB, SMB, QOS (Cake/HTB), DNS DNSCRYPT, Inadyn, DHCP, WDS AP (5ghz), AP 2.4,
Firmware loaded fine, initial first usage very good and performed well.
However performing the following causes rapid degradation , Read/write a few MB to SMB (doesnt need to be more than a few mb) followed by running a bufferbloat test on waveform.
What will be observed is CPU Usage will climb, wont come down and will continue to climb with regular usage, Mine was pegged at 100% for about 5min, with the 1 and 5 min avg above 6.1 , and then it finally dropped all connections.
edit - if it makes any differences, the test case above was performed on a hardwired Connection to the router. hardwired connections were also dropped.
55914 is affected by this too but i havent reverted and tested, though some similar behaviour was noted by me.
reverted to 54682 - all good on this build

Router/Version: Netgear R7800
File: dd-wrt-webupgrade.bin
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r55109 std (02/09/24) (prev. DD-WRT v3.0-r55052 std (02/02/24))
Kernel: Linux 6.1.77 #109 SMP Thu Feb 8 07:07:57 +07 2024 armv7l
Mode: Gateway, SFE disabled, 2.4G and 5G wifi (FW: DD-WRT), Wireguard for external access, WAN to 4G Bridge (DHCP Client), Keep Alive reboot 6:02 in the morning, using my own local NTP
Reset: No
Status: Installed yesteday, OK. Since a few releases the Status --> Router Page lists Sensors: Thermal Zone0 to Thermal Zone10, besides WLAN0 and WLAN1.
Out of curiosity, are those 11 Thermal Zones all located on the CPU? Or are they spread over the board?

Mode: Gateway+AP, SFE Disabled, STP Disabled, Wifi 5(VANILLA)/2.4(VANILLA) Main+Guest(VAP), DNSMasq, USB(3.2, Ext2)/Entware, DNSCrypt, NAS/Samba, Static & DHCP, SSH, FTP, QoS (WAN) using MAC.
Issues/Errors: Upgraded Ok. SMB still crashes the router on saves to router mounted USB Drive (crash syslog attached). Otherwise everything else seems Ok.
[/code]
The same problem with few last builds, - I can access to files via explorer on win 10 after few minutes only.
R7800, upgraded without reset, before builds tried upgrading with reset, but was the same problem. The nvram reset not helps.

At least you guys can connect with Windows, Linux Mint keeps telling me my password is incorrect (ever since the kernel upgrade). Something is defiantly not right with SMB. FTP works good. _________________ Netgear XR500 - Gateway

Router/Version: Netgear R7800 x 3
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r55109 std (02/09/24)
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r55052 std (02/02/24), last reset at 54905
Mode/Status: Gateway (SFE disabled), Access Point (VANILLA firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k), IPV6 (DHCP6 w/ prefix delegation), Entware, DOT via SmartDNS/DNSMasq, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server + 2 wired access points (VANILLA firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k)
Issues/Errors:
Up 36 hours. USB 2.0 and 3.0 working properly for Entware and "jffs" partitions. Wireguard and OpenVPN servers working as expected and throughput sufficient to open video files on network shares. Speed (tested via nPerf.com) averages 505/420 wired and 480/390 wireless (ISP says 500/500), which is favorable to the ISP router. SFE remains disabled due to random reboots. Router LAN lights are working.
Uptime would have been longer but I rebooted it trying to fix an issue that turned out to be PC hardware.
Router/Version: TP-Link TL-WR841ND v11
Update method: WebUpgrade
File/Kernel: tl-wr841nd-webflash.bin_r55109 / Linux 3.18.140-d6 #192556 Fri Feb 9 06:39:02 +06 2024 mips
Previous/Reset: r55052 / no
Mode/Status: AP wired and wireless / Up and running for 9:51 hours
Issues/Errors: Nothing significant
The fact is that the router connected to the Internet (to the Internet provider). And it reports an error, the orange WAN indicator flashes (the icon in the form of a planet). Internet is working, I just think it's a glitch
Thank you BS and gurus! _________________ Atheros
