My Archer C7 V2 (US) is connected via WDS to another dd-wrt router (Netgear Nighthawk X10 R9000),
then i have a VAP - AP(WDS) configured on the C7 to extend the wifi network, but this VAP is not showing up anymore to any client.

Last known working version is r51589

Wifi settings:

Ha yes, i see it now: https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/7669

Changing the channel from VHT80 52 UU, to VHT80 100 UU fixes it for now.

Router/Version: Netgear R7800 / 55109 std
File/Kernel: dd-wrt-webupgrade.bin
Mode/Status: All lights ok
Issues/Errors: Random reboots - not every day but frequent

Last I noticed the reboot on the router I saw that all led lights went out except for power that though became orange for some time.. until router started up again I suppose after 1 min or so devices connected automatically again... (has happend to me 5 times or so since update until this date)

Thanks though for keeping making updates Smile

@hookdk, do you have SFE enabled? There is a known issue with random reboots when SFE is enabled.

Thanks for your hint.. I can for now say I only have sfe if that is enabled by default(?) .. I will look into it when I'm back home (writing from phone) and I also am not sure what it is.. but will look at it.. thanks... (I also need look at Vlan since my provider saying I can run directly with that vlan 101 on my router... am a bit tired of the provided router so would like to have r7800 directly connected to fiber box.. but that's a different matter) thanks again

It is enabled by default. I have my R7800 connected directly to the Verizon ONT, and it works fine for internet (note that without SFE, you're limited to roughly 800Mbs).

If you have TV, you'll need at least a MoCA adapter to provide data to the coax-connected cable boxes. You may also have to forward some ports. Google search for your provider and "use your own router".

VLAN tagging on the WAN port is quickly set up - see my signature.
This is at least true for pure Internet - IPVT is unfortunately a bit more complicated.

@dpp3530
I have now disabled SFE.. the router also rebooted today so have to try to fix that first... The other thing yeah I know how to search Google ofc! But I'm not from US so my provider doesn't come up alot in the search.. though they have some general guides which mainly only saying set the vlan to 101 (in standard firmware for R7800).. My provider is Danish Hiper... But I didn't wanna "spam" this thread with this since it was about the new firmware.. But I have now disabled the SFE as said don't know if it effects the speed I also need try run directly too without the provided router and then see the speed (but ofc need setup vlan for it).. anyways thanks a bunch

I certainly did not mean to imply otherwise, just didn't have specific advice. As far as I can tell, different providers use different TCP ports, hence the Google suggestion.

Do you yourself have turned off SFE in yours? You said the thing with speed... I would ofc like to have it running as fast as possible but where its running OK.. The version I had before was more than a year old.. might go back to that .. but for now am just testing with sfe turned off then will report back when I feel certain what that did...

Here below is some guides from my provider but it's really nothing special Vlan tagging with 101 .. I tried some older ddwrt guides from the forum some time back but couldn't get it to work in ddwrt .. but just if you were curious here's a SS and a link to my providers guide (though in Danish)

Thanks dpp3530 for all your help with this

My internet is 500/500, and the R7800 easily handles that with SFE off. YMMV. If I had gig intenet, I might consider going back to an older K4 build and enabling it. Reports in this forum say somewhere near 800/800 is the limit without SFE.

My ISP didn't need vlan tagging, and basic TV (guide, on-demand) works if I just go LAN to WAN on an old Verizon router I bought on eBay (it was cheaper than a MOCA device). My setup is currently a bit more convoluted with a three-router system to get Remote DVR to work, but it's still better than the ISP router.
