Does anyone know what the difference between this model and the WRT600N would be? Both have N dual bands, gig switch ports, and storage link. The only noticeable difference I can see is that it uses linksys' new enclosure. Does anyone have one to confirm the chipset, ram size, and flash memory size? _________________ Picch
Is it even out yet? Linksys just announced it last week and most websites are showing that it won't ship for another 3 to 5 weeks. Even though some websites have it in stock there's probably few people who own one.
The WRT600N is around the same price as the WRT610N and it definitely works with DD-WRT -- If you're worried I would go with the WRT600N for now or wait at least a few more months until some people own the router and can try it with DD-WRT.
Based on the link you provided with the FCC pictures though I am guessing it will work since it has the same chipsets and has more RAM.

Mine should arrive tomorrow from NewEgg for $199. I just the price now, it has been jacked up to $249
Amazon won't even ship this for another 3-5 weeks.
The main difference about this one compared to the 600 is that it has 2 separate radios ! 1 for the 2.4Ghz band and 1 for the 5Ghz band.
Adi
The WRT600N also has two separate radios. _________________ WRT54G v3 - v24 r14471M NEWD Eko - AP

Not much difference it seems besides the enclosure and of course the lack of external antennas. Which, based on the specs on Linksys site seem to be a bit inferior to the 600. Quite a bit actually...

Has 64 MB inplace of 600N's 32 MB.
Where'd you read that? (I'm not trying to be mean; I'd just like to know) _________________ WRT54G v3 - v24 r14471M NEWD Eko - AP

Just wanted to say I love the 600N
fantastic range (subjective)
a few issues with dd-wrt - dual radio issue and the "blinky light" issue
Has anyone tried svn9856 on it yet?
Splinter911
Does it have 64MB of RAM?

The link from the OP ( http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/content/view/30504/100/ ) indicates from the FCC pictures that there is 64MB of RAM on board, they couldn't tell how much flash memory the 610N has from the pictures though.
Quote:
It looks like memory has been increased from the 600N's 32 MB to 64 MB in the 610N. A photo in the FCC docs that I'm not showing, shows a single Eon flash chip on the bottom of the board. But it's too fuzzy to tell whether flash has been changed from the 8 MB in the 600N.
Also pretty sure in this post below, the person was talking about the 600N that we all have, and not the new 610N.
