I would also love to see DD-WRT working on WRT610N.

Since WRT600N is not available for purchase in Europe the WRT610N is the best choice if you want gigabit ports, N-draft AND DD-WRT.

Could the developers give a brief timeline when they think that WRT610N is going to work with DD-WRT (weeks/months/years?).

The 610N is supposed to have dual independent radios. In other words, it should be able to use 802.11n to its full potential of 600Mbps when used with a dual radio client. I imagine it can also be used as a very fast P2P link.

Hope this will get supported soon as i need a fast link between my basement and my second floor..

US here, serial starts with CTG01H. There doesn't seem to be any regional difference in hardware.

I don't have any heating issues yet either. I just installed mine today. I can see it gets warmer than I would like. Especially since I intend to run it 24/7. As a precaution I elevated the unit slightly to allow for better heat dispersion on the bottom. I used four (4) circular foams found on CD/DVD spindles. I placed one under each corner then moved the router so that it sits on top of a fan attached to the top of my CPU case. In addition to elevation the foam maintains the routers resistance to sliding. The underlying fan should eliminate any heat issues that arise.

I love my WRT610N! I got it with the matching N adapter (WMP300N) from NewEgg for $193 after tax and free shipping. I was just curious if anyone has any experience using the 610N as their primary router. Also, can the WRT54GS receive on the 5.0ghz frequency? If it could it would be SO fast.

has anyone looked at the cfe for the wrt600n and compared it to the cfe on the 600??..


also is it possible to use the cfe for the 600 on the 610? with tweaks of course.

GOD DAMN IT!!! This is the THIRD ROUTER That I have bought and is NOT supported under DD WRT. SO MUCH for open source quality !!!

Geez people, this is an AWESOME router. What's the deal? What do you need to get this done? I'll help...
