I purchased my 610n last month and finally put it in a drawer while waiting for dd-wrt to finally release a working firmware for it. With the factory firmware I had constant drops on wireless and wired. It was completely useless.
I just installed the firmware from page 32 and once I finally got it installed I had no issues (other than the well document 10Mbit connection on port 1). Had I been smart enough to do the 30/30/30 reset before flashing I probably would not have had any issues with the flash. After flashing the dd-wrt firmware I went into a reboot loop where I could get 5 pings then miss 4. I did the 30/30/30 reset and it came up fine. I now have both 5 GHZ n clients connected at 270Mbit and 2.4 G clients conneced at 54Mbit. I haven't tested the USB port but I don't really need that functionality now.
I see in the post above that there is a new linksys firmware but why bother..... I have been a user of dd-wrt for years on my old wrt54g and I will continue to do so.
edit: I'm using two different WUSB600N adaptors for the 5 GHZ connections, an airlink 101 for one 2.4 connection, the onboard dell 1395 wlan adaptor on my d630 laptop and two wired connections. I'm streaming live SD video over the 5 GHZ connection without any issues.
I have noticed that when I add the VPN to Administration ---> commands ---> startup scripts, all my Port Forward values disappear.... has anyone else seen this?

I have installed and am testing the newest Linksys firmware (v1.00.02 B10). It seems to have resolved all the problems with NAS and connections, and is working great. :D
A couple of highlights:
- my NTFS-formatted USB drive now works properly
- deleted files and directories are quickly and properly deleted
- files larger than 4GB are supported
- connection speed has increased from a max of 270Mbs to the full 300Mbs
My WRT610N is finally working as advertised, and I'm very pleased with the results.
installed the new linksys firmware, everything seems to be OK. The only issue I have is that I cannot access the twonky config page at 192.168.1.1:9000 does anyone has the same problem?

i've been switching back and forth comparing a few things. i have noticed that if you try to reformat the usb drive, it does not format as NTFS.
i'll be stoked once the wrt610 fw is out of testing.

That's correct - the Linksys firmware always formats as FAT32, but you can format it as NTFS when connected to your computer and it will work when connected to the WRT610N.
I prefer NTFS for its journaling filesystem, making it more robust and quicker to repair in case of power outages, etc.
I have problem on 610n I try to flash ddwrt now I don't have respond from it only power blink I try 30/30/30 but nothing and if I try to use tftp to upload original img tell me error on server transfer cancelled any help?

which file did you write to the router??? the one posted earlier in this thread is currently the only version that doesn't brick the router.
if you used any other version you will need to jtag or use the terminal connections to load firmware.
Flashed new Linksys firmware. Now missing 1/2 of files and folders on HDD, NTFS file system.
Physically disconnect USB disk before flashing Linksys firmware and hard reset after, otherwise you will have the same.
Now i can remember - it was some warning in this forum, saddly, to late for me....
Have backup, so, not so bad.
