People and threads saying "no VLAN support", but most are old and pointing to builds over 1500 releases old. Do VLANs work now with modern builds like 14594?
No change in latest builds but it is "No linux kernel support for tagged VLAN's in the LAN switch"
So the VAP im after, like the screenshot, is working? Always thought tagged VLAN = VAP. _________________ D-Link DIR-825 B1 -> [BS] DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/16/10) std - build 14815

Possibly considering this router (v2), from the readings I did in this thread it seems most problems are corrected now? Few things I am concerned about.
-Is the max TX power in DD-WRT 251 mW like WRT160N or is it higher? FCC ID documents show it can take up to 991 mW, higher TX power (over Atheros) is one of the reasons I am considering this router. Made a thread about WRT610N TX power but it wasn't really answered.
-I think this is a 3x3 router since it has 3 antennas for each band? Saw some stuff about it having a 2x2 radio..
-Hows the range (using a decent TX power, like above 100 mW at least) on both bands? Mostly heard its beating most routers out there, yet also heard otherwise.
-By how modern this router is I take it can run VAPs for both bands (wl0.1/wl1.1)? _________________ D-Link DIR-825 B1 -> [BS] DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/16/10) std - build 14815
And don't grab the build labeled for the 610N. I bricked my WRT610n doing it and had to recover using the JTAG... use "dd-wrt.v24-14594_NEWD-2_K2.6_big.bin" or anything else that doesn't have a specific model number appended to the end of the file.

To all reading this thread regarding the "stubborn boot" problem with the WRT610nV2:
It's been resolved with the latest firmware builds (eg: Brainslayer 14594). You can clock at full speed now (480 Mhz) and the routers reboot just fine now. Neall
Am I on the right track? I'm looking for the successor to my current build or at least something compatible with my WRT610n v2. Here's my current build that is still having this reboot issue:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/31/10) big
(SVN revision 14536M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko)
I couldn't find any reference to NEWD-2. What should I be looking for?
have wrt610n v2 + wrt160nl (both are bnib and the same price for me)
which device i must leave ? standard usage (torrents, etc)
please advice something (the search didn't help me)

Hi,
i am using wrt610n v2 with the latest dd-wrt 2.6: Build 14569
I was using the password for WPA2 with the: < > characters on my previous routers but now with the new build the chars are marked as "illegal" can you please fix this ? i want to have very strong password as i did with WRT54GL version.
I also found that DHCP is missing a range setting.
Example:
Range from 192.168.0.21 to 192.168.0.234
You could also include this setting in future releases.
thanks.
My summary:
WRT610n v2, K26, 14569:
Few suggestions:
- 1. allow > < characters in the WPA2 protection password for ultra stong password strength.
- 2. Make a range settings to DHCP server, so user can choose a range DHCP server offers ips. example from 192.168.0.21 to 192.168.0.235.
- 3. Ability to change the 2nd (5GHz) Wireless card mac address.
Bugs:
In Status > Router the memory information is not displayed.

anyone tried the most recent build? my PPTP connection stops receiving after a few minutes. I have to re-establish connection and it works again for another few minutes.
any suggestions, besides going back to a previous version?
Thanks
I take it back. I have now tried a couple of other versions as far back as 13968 and 14311 and they all have the same behavior. 14311 is the best right now since it drops me after 8 minutes....the others were shorter.
The strange thing is that port forwarding seems solid, so it is just something with VPN (PPTP). Wonder if OpenVPN will have the same issue.
all home user routes use the same specs like ram cpu etc only high end models change them specs
You can check out the Wiki for the differences between the models and versions here. _________________ Linksys E3000 DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/28/10) big - build 14853M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko (AP)

Does anyone know what the difference between this model and the WRT600N would be? Both have N dual bands, gig switch ports, and storage link. The only noticeable difference I can see is that it uses linksys' new enclosure. Does anyone have one to confirm the chipset, ram size, and flash memory size?

Anyone having issues with multiple pptp sessions through the 610Nv2? We are using one of these as the gateway for our wireless internal network and are having issues where only one or two people can VPN in from this connection where before with a 54GL running ddwrt worked fine.
