I was wondering how far people have overclocked this baby?
What mods did you do if any?

I'd like a few experiences before I attempt this for myself.

Thanks!

It's just my nature. I'm going to open up the case, drop heatsinks in and mod a wire mesh window.

Also, I'm a semi-heavy torrent user so I thought I could benefit from the extra speed. Do you think that's unnecessary?

Load I've never really checked, but I should seeing as how thats a good indicator.

So I ran some torrents and looks like from the web gui my CPU load is 90+%.
So would this warrant an OC? (with some supporting cooling mods)

As well, I checked on the command line with TOP and it's only showing 60% total CPU usage. with almost all of it on HTTPD. What process is it that I should be looking for to see how much of the load is my torrents.

hi,

i dont know the v2 but i know this:

the cpu is @ 200MHz and u can safely oc to 216MHz (this can solve stability issues, too). this is the clockfrq with is used for the communiction on the board.

all other oc can harm your router or can result in instability.

Well the WR850G v2 has the same hardware as the WRT54G v2. By self experience and reading other post after that day, I learned that many WRT54G v2 will brick when overcloked to 216. Some faster speeds are reported to work...

Well I was talking to some guy on a forum, he added heatsinks to the cpu and ram modules i believe. then popped a cooling fan on. He said he's gotten it to 250mhz! 260mhz was the limit.
