yes i did do the ifconfig command and i can see the tunnel was alive. but i didnt get the script part.

I and configuring PPTP client on dd-wrt under Administration -->services on that page we have the PPTP server and PPTP client i am just using the PPTP client. and according to the information provided there the ifconfig is correct.

is this option for PPTP client or openVPN. i think PKI means certificates that are used in openVPN im using PPTP client. please clear me on this

PKI is for openvpn
don't know for pptp

in that case i cant use that command i dont have pki
