Where can I find the VINTage builds of v24 SP1?
On the ufficial SP1 directory there were the (old) May builds (so i think is definitely not SP1).
And searched in /eko/ with no success... ty.

This bug is solved in NEWD (i mean NO VINT) builds?
Thank you.

The problem is the new nas module. It does not work correctly with the old Wireless Driver found in the VINT builds...it works fine with NEWD.

Eko is looking into this. He has WEP working but not WPA, WPA2, or Radius.

A question for dd-wrt gurus around there: for a WRT54G v2.0 (BCM4712 rev 1 wl0_corerev 7) do you advice the NEWD or the VINT builds?

I read BCM4712 works more stable with VINT, is this info correct?

In that case, a WDS link between "mismatched" builds (a VINT and a NEWD) will have a performance loss?

Thank you!

Well...it seems that everyone has a slightly different setup. But in general, what I have found is that the VINT builds are more stable on the 4712 units.

Currently, I have two V2.0 units running in Repeater Bridge modes...one with VINT-9856...the other with SP1-10011....both nokaid_generic.

I have to say...so far after 2 days of testing I see no stability issues with the SP1-10011 build. It would take anywhere from immediate to 5 days to manifest in the past so it is too early to make a final determination.

I can say the VINT-9856 has been running for quite some time without any stability issues for me.

At this time, I'd say try the SP1...if you see strange issues like web gui slowdown, Internet slowdown, or Frequent disconnects....then switch over to VINT.

I've seen so many posts on this issue....but I can only speak from my own experiences....VINT has been more stable in the past...but that could change....I'm still testing.

Ty very much for your exaustive explanation.

But what about a "mismatched" WDS between a VINT and a NEWD? I heard in the past some issues for instance on a hybrid WDS between v23 and v24...

Okok, I think I can stop asking and start testing Very Happy

Sorry about that....WDS should work fine between the V24-Vint and V24-Newd builds. Not being a tester for WDS...I can't say definitively...but it should work fine.

I test exclusively Repeater and Repeater Bridge modes...there is no issues between VINT and NEWD with SSID driven units....MAC drive (WDS) should also work fine.

just one quick question regarding VINT and NEWD differences: On which WRT versions does multi-SSID work with NEWD builds? I have found that multi-ssid on older WRTs (I have G 2.0/GS 1.0+1.1) only works with VINT versions. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

Code:
~ # nvram get wl0_corerev

9 and over is OK - you'll get multi BSSID
5 - 8: works, but not multi BSSID
4 = not supported (old mini pci cards)

Notice it is about Multi-BSSID (i.e. different MAC address)...

I have exact same hardware and found only VINT works for me. I start to get incoming/outgoing wireless errors every time I try anything other than VINT.
