|
I have a WRT54G v6 that has DD-WRT v24 SP2. I am trying to downgrade it to v23 so I can set it up for dual wan.
However when I try to flash v23 it says it updated fine but once it reboots it still says that it has v24 at the top right.
Please help me with this situation.
Thanks in advance,

SP2 huh? - not out yet.
Anyway....do a hard reset, flash router with micro only....hard reset again....then configure...no backup/restore.

I meant v24 RC-7 to downgrade to v23 SP2.
Anyways I did what you said but still it continues to say v24 RC-7 at the top right. |

OK...try this method
Press the Reset button for a full minute
Now use tftp to load the V23 on the unit.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?path=downloads%2Fothers%2Ftornado%2FWindows-TFTP/
Set a static IP address on your computer like 192.168.1.10 and 255.255.255.0 for a Mask.
Now plug an ethernet cable into your computer to the LAN port.
Start tftp2 utility and configure as such
IP = 192.168.1.1
Leave password blank
Select your V23 Micro_Generic.bin file
Set retries to 10
Now...unplug the router...plug it back in and immediately hit the start button on the tftp2 utility.
It should flash....wait 2 minutes after you get the "Success" message. (the firmware is still configuring itself during this time)
After 2 minutes...press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
Now set your computer's Adapter back to Obtain Automatic DHCP and DNS again....connect up...configure.
root/admin is UN/PW....at 192.168.1.1
