I have some 2M flash wgr614 v6.I use a linksys WRT54G V5 with DDWRT rom change into, and change the RAM to 16m.It works good, but the reset button didnot work.Wan port become lan port, and lan4 become WAN port, but use vlan setting,it is easy to fix it.
But becasue it is MICRO version, cannot use SSH and CIFS to copy new CFE.bin into the router.
How can I do to copy files into?So I can change the CFE,and lock the 16m memory and the lan port?

My flash says:

MX S052011
29LV800BTTC-90

That's 1MB, right? Sad

Hi all,

Just opened up a v6. Found the following HW inside:

BCM5352KPBG
29LV160CBTC-70G
K4S641632K-UC75

Will it do the dd-wrt dance, do you think? It seems to be a 2MB version, doesn't it?

Kind regards

Has the same flash chip as you, which is 2Mbtye in size and will take the micro build.

Well according to this post, it can be done, that is if the router has 2megs of flash, and a way of replacing the BSP with CFE. But there is no process of just uploading dd-wrt via the web interface.

Not sure which pins you are talking about, but the 12-pin header on the WGR614v6 is for serial:

Don't have to open the case or do any soldering to find out what size the flash is.

Dig up the telnetEnable.exe program and make a batch file with this line, or just type it in a command prompt.

telnetEnable 192.168.1.1 (MAC Address) Gearguy Geardog

Of course use your router's IP address and MAC, without the (), delete colons, all letters must be upper case.

Name the batch file something short, not telnet.bat

Now you can simply enter telnet and the IP address at a command prompt then login with Gearguy and Geardog.

To get the flash size...
Code:

Login: Gearguy
Password: *******
U12H05800> show

Commands are:

arp            flashShow      icmp           inet           interface
ip             mbuf           mem            mroute         netpool
route          routestat      stack          task           tcp
udp

 '..'    return to previous directory

U12H05800 show> flashShow
base: 0xbfc00000 type 0x3 size 0x100000 blockSize 0x10000 width 2

This is an unprotected flash.

Well, *bleep*! Mine is only 1 meg. Sad Enter a ? to get the list of directories or commands. At the root(?) level there's a bridge directory, in it are age, device, dump, show

That has me wondering if it might already have the ability to be configured as a wireless to wired bridge???
