Will those two seconds always be there? IE if I randomly upgrade to an unworking one, can I reflash it back?

Yes, it's a built-in recovery mode of the router.

So if you were to try different build, you can always reload a working one.

I only buy routers that will run DD-WRT

I never really liked the stock firmware versions

I bought the WHR-G300N just because DD-WRT had started supporting it

I launched it once normally, just to make sure it turned on,
then immediately flashed build 030309 on it

No newer builds have worked on it, 030309 is current latest working version.

Any serious problems with it running? I have heard mixed reviews about N working and not working, like that. Every different forum topic has a different conclusion is seems like.

Hi

try this : http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/180509/WHR-G300N/firmware.tftp

Firmware works , wireless lan works , wpa2 tkip or aes works now.

This was working great (20090518 build) until I disconnected the power temporarily. The thing will not boot up after I set some DHCP static entries and NAT port forwards.

Another busy Buffalo/Ralink thread:

I would try a 30-30-30 reset a couple of times.

Then reload the latest 05/21/09 build via TFTP.

I am running 05/21/09 and rock solid connection,
great uptime, no issues with this whatsoever.

Hi, i have problems with every build i have found for Buffalo WHR g300n.
My ISP limits my connection to only one computer through mac address, pppoe and uses TTL limit, so i had to put ddwrt to this router to run ttl adjusting command for outgoing connections, but with every biuld when i clone mac, adjust PPPoe, wireless and ttl command and restart the router, then i cant ping the router again, cant access the webinterface and have to reset it. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem of the biulds or i dont do anything right.
Would aprriciate every answer.

oooh, 30-30-30 is not possible as this router does not have any buttons. I will need to crack it open and find a reset.

In the meantime the router sits with a power light and a steady red diagnostic light lit.

I figure this might have to do with the DHCP static across wireless so I disabled the wireless on the lappy and rebooted the router.

It boots up fine. That could be it... I haven't changed anything except prevent the wireless device from requesting an IP via DHCP.

I then plugged the laptop NIC in (no DHCP static lease on that MAC) and rebooted the router again and it works fine. I will try a few more tests.

I cannot be sure yet, but this seems to be a problem with DHCP static across wireless.

Actually the rooter has a reset button and you dont have to ckrack open it, you can find the button at the opposite side of the AOSS button side.

Maybe it's under the clip-on stand? This one only has that one AOSS button.

Same. It's working nicely. Whenever I feel like trying to break it again I'll report back. Razz
