If someone would like the GPL source code of RT-N15, firmware version 2.0.1.1 (latest) then it can be acquired from Asus's website: http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=WDNEPCdBxuJU5CIY
(Download -> Others -> gpl source code)

The file size is: 176.56MB

Not sure if this would help the progress of getting ddwrt on this device. But I sure hope it does (their feature-set sort of blows and I would much rather be back in the saddle w/ddwrt).

Cheers,

Anyone know if there has been any progress on this one. I am new to this so forgive the ignorance but is this something I should just give a try and see if it might work or am I going to brick my router that way?

@draconmythica

To my knowledge the Asus RT-N15 is still unsupported by the ddwrt firmware.

I just checked here to confirm:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

So I wouldn't go ahead and install it on your router as it'll most likely brick it. We just gotta wait patiently. Personally, I've had some major issues with the router (as well as some of my friends), Asus even has me testing out some of their beta firmware because it blows so hard Wink
Anyway, you may want to hold out for this if you can:

I don't suppose you have any idea how to set up the wireless bridge mode on the asus firmware? I've set it up on the dd-wrt before (different router) and thats why I was hoping to get it again. The asus version supports the feature but I can't seem to get it working...

I do but I'm currently at work. I'll check when I get it home. I don't have it setup currently but I recall it being somewhat intuitive.

@sash
NewEgg.com had a deal going for that router:

@sash

My router is still having issues (beta firmware is not helping). So if you wouldn't mind a router that occasionally (once a week or so) loses connectivity to the ISP then I may just donate my RT-N15 and get that new Netgear one w/linux onboard from the getgo.

@draconmythica

Wireless - Bridge:
Connect to APs in list: yes
AP mode: Hybrid
Add a remote bridge (another router) based on its mac address.
Hit apply and check the settings on your other AP.

That should work but seeing as my router randomly doesn't do things properly, I wouldn't be surprised if some random setting is borked on your router. Hope not though.

Man, this router looks so good on paper but it's been nothing but trouble the day it arrived from newegg.
