still running 14289 for quite some time now been very stable
the last time i tried the listed versions that are Still listed on the router Database page gave me issues or did not work correctly but the 14289 was the best version and has had 100% stability for me even under abuse loads {mass connection test with emule set to high connection rate}
i have the 1.0A router only problem i had was getting the recovery mode to work as there is not much notice of it doing it (and not looking at the recovery IP was .4 not .1 wasted 2 hrs due that my error in failing to read) you should be able to put DD-WRT on an 1.0A router as i have
been an good router been running for an year now (and 1 week from when i last posted), is there any benefit for me to upgrade to an newer DD-WRT version as the currant one is working good (good N speeds as well with netgear N300 USB, was getting around 9MB/s in the same room)
the PPPoE issues i do not know off as i use cable UK so PPPoE is not needed for me
download bin file. /uploaded by kmmng/

The downloaded file should be named "image.bin"
- Set your wired network to IP: 192.168.1.8 (or any other EXCEPT 192.168.1.6)
- Connect with network cable your PC and Port #1 on the router.
- Unplug the router power
- Hold down "reset" button
- Plug the power back while continue holding "reset" btn
- Wait few seconds (let's say 10) until the router wifi icon flash.
- Hold the reset few more seconds (just in case)
- Then write down the command
tftp -i 192.168.1.6 PUT image.bin
(I'm not quite sure that you will be able to ping 192.168.1.6 at this point.)
after 10-20 seconds you should see that upload is successful.
-Take a cigarette (5-10 minutes)
-Reboot.
-Restore network card settings or add 192.168.1.1 as GW
- Your DD-WRT should waiting you @ 192.168.1.1
It work for me.. (do not forget the cigarette...)
I followed the instructions above from wili98 which worked.
Not certain of the previous version - it was the image.bin supplied by Kmmng which you can only see to download if you are logged in as a registered user.
I found when doing the TFTP process that the PC you use MUST have a static IP in the 192.168.1.x range - even if the router was set to 192.168.2.1 or similar before entering the TFTP mode.
I wasted a good half hour trying to TFTP to 192.168.2.1 ...
Thanks
Gavin
Battling to flash my BR-6574n in any way possible.
The latest webflash image doesn't work for me, the router returns "invalid file format" via the web interface so I tried tftp.
From the various quotes above, I set my router to 192.168.1.1 range and fixed my pc to be 192.168.1.8 and then flash to 192.168.1.6
None of the tftp clients I've tried do anything, they all timeout.
The default range for the router is 192.168.2.x
Why would the IP range even matter ?
I found that I had to webflash the factory-to-dd-wrt.bin image that I found on this thread, which pretty much bricked the router, but allowed me to follow the instructions above to flash the router with the latest dd-wrt image via tftp.
Until I did that, I could neither webflash or tftp an image onto the device.

Windows 7 doesn't include tftp by default. To install it go to control panel-->programs and features-->turn windows features on and off. Select tftp client and press ok. now tftp will be installed and you can type the command. set your ip to 192.168.1.8 no matter what the default ip is.
