Hello,
I currently have a network with 3 WRT54GL and one WRT54G's all running WDS. I'd like to disable the AP function on the WRT54G router so that none of my wireless clients will associate to it. I'd like them to instead use one of the 54GL's as their AP. Does anyone know of a way to do this without breaking the existing WDS funcationality?
the bad thing about the MAC address filter is that when my Apple wants to roam, it will get the 54G router ever once in a while. It doesn't just skip it, instead it tells me that the router is using access control and that my computer isn't listed as being able to access it. Not an ideal solution. With WEP I could at least use different SSID's, looking for a similar solution for a WAP encrypted WDS setup.

Using an Apple iBook w/ OSX 10.4.7, I can't confirm this problem:
2 routers, connected using WDS.
Encryption is WPA/WPA2 + AES.
On one of the routers, MAC address filter is enabled,
with no address allowed.
In consequence, the iBook connects "silently" to the other
router, even when the "blocked" one is nearer and shows
the higher signal strength at the location of the iBook.
Not sure what the difference is, I have a Mac Mini, and a Powerbook and they all act the same way. Would love to know what to change to "Silently" move over, that's really what I need. I'm using SP1 of the generic image, does that make a difference?
