newb needs help.. WL-520GU & HP-G54

I currently have Asus WL-520GU & Buffalo HP-G54
I have few question to ask.. please help me out.

Bufallo hp-g54 is flashed to v23 sp2 std and changed the motherboard setting...(i'm not sure where I saw it.. but suppose to have better wireless support)
I feel like upgrading to v24 sp1, do I need to change back the motherboard setting to default before flashing?
Do I need to change motherboard setting again after flashing v24?
which bios should I use? dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin?

About Asus WL-520GU, I was searching through forum and I see that there aren't many threads of 'printer usb support' instead i see load of 'harddrive support'.
From what I gathered, there are no firmware that supports printer usb. Is this correct?

See http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Printer_Sharing. The USB builds that Eko makes (which you've seen references to in other threads) also supports USB printer sharing.
