Question: is it possible to mix WDS from different routers?

Hi,
I've got 2 routers:
1- LaFonera v2100 (atheros wifi chipset)
2- WRT54GS v1.1 (broadcom wifi chipset)

I've been reading the forum and I'm not sure if this it is possible to mix WDS from different routers(wifi chipsets). Does anyone know if this is possible? if not, is there any other method?
