If you take a look at the post on OpenWRT (https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=18279&p=3) you see that it is not easy to add support but possible.
Maybe the devs modify the U-boot the same way and start testing.
But I assume you'll always have to modify the U-Boot on your device first before uploading alternative firmware.
So it's been a few months, and no word from the devs or those donating -- kind of strange. I guess the donation was never made?
I'm still here, and just as puzzled as you guys are. I was about to donate my WNR2000 when someone else announced they already had. Anyone know if that actually happened?
afaik the wnr2000 does some sort of check on the FW-file. If the firmware file fails this check the router will not accept the file (boot/upgrade).
If you follow the post on the openwrt forum (my last post some lines up) you can see that there is some improvement on the firmwarecheck. They modified the bootloader to also accept different FW. Maybe you can read the post and try (serial is a must have i think) if the Trendnet TEW-632BRP FW will run.
Perhaps some dev read this post and can check if dd-wrt is possible with the modifications to the loader on the WNR 2000
Correct. Thanks much to fuhry on openwrt. He has a modified u-boot bootloader to bypass firmware checksum. I think that this is the key to finally have proper DD-WRT or Open-WRT support for WNR2000v1
