Hello All,

I'm new to this and just flash this firmware to my Trendnet TEW-625BRP and now having this problem

- Can't access to the router anymore. I have tried 192.168.10.1, 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1 and none of them working
- The status LED is off and there is no wireless available from this router

I was using this frimware http://wrpd.dlink.com.tw/router/firmwar … Cx_Default found from http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/DIR-615C

Please help

Thank you

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, but have been using dd-wrt on D-Link DIR-615C1, DIR-615E1, and DIR-601A1 routers for about 4 months now. I was having excellent results with the 615E1 (v15778) and 601A1 (v16214), but only intermittent connections with the 615C1 (v14896), which is the latest recommended build in the Wiki. However, I read on some site that a user was using v16214 on his 615C1 with better results than the Wiki recommended version v14896. So I decided to give it a try on the 615C1 router that was giving me the most trouble. Well, I must say that I've run it for 4 days now with no dropped connections and much better connection speed than with v14896. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this version on their AR9130 based router? I haven't tried VPN on this one yet, but it works great on my 615E1 routers. Let me know what you think or find.

I have the TrendNet TEW-652BRP v3.0R. Seems like it has the RealTek chip in it (says RTL8196C on the main chip, see attached pic). The thread mentions v2.x with RealTek won't work, but mine is 3.0R and I just wanted to see if if the same rule would apply to it.

Thanks,

I have a 652BRP V1.0R. I'm trying to emergency recover back to the stock firmware (pressing reset for 30 seconds). I've tried downloading the latest firmware from Trendnet's site for my V1.0R model. That fails:

"Incorrect hardware ID image, Please check !"

I've tried the TEW652BRPA1_FW110B08.bin, which I believe, is the original firmware and that also fails with the same error.

Anyone have a link to the proper binary firmware file I need to do a recovery?

Thanks. Very Happy

I found my solution. Even though my model number is clearly marked as TEW-652BRP (V1.0R). The emergency firmware recovery required TEW-632BRP (A1.0R) firmware. Apparently, both these model's hardware are exactly the same.

The firmware that worked for me is found here:
http://trendnet.com/asp/download_manager/list_subcategory.asp?SUBTYPE_ID=1151

This looks like a bug in the router's stock (not dd-wrt?) software with the recovery process id check.

At the end of each firmware is the hardware id #:
TEW-632BRP (A1.0R) id: AP81-AR9130-RT-070614-00 (is the id that worked to recover my stock firmware)
TEW-652BRP (V1.0R) id: AP81-AR9130-RT-080609-05

So which one to get TEW-632BRP or Dlink 615?

Any thoughts?
