I don't have an interest in Apple devices so I can't really help you too much with experience, but I have seen even simple WebGUI behave very strangely with different browsers.
It may mean that the Apple's web browser does something it isn't supposed to or misinterprets it and thus renders the webpage wrongly and stuff stops working.
What you can try is to see if there are alternate web browsers you can try, I know for Android you can get Firefox for an example and see if the problem persists.
I would use SSH instead of Telnet if you are working from the outside, one of the reasons is anything you send over Telnet would be in plain text, including passwords, plus you can secure your SSH with keys containing passphrases which means that the Chinamen that keeps knocking on SSH ports won't be getting anywhere.
The drawback is that it takes you a while to understand the keygen process, but in the long run it will allow you to do so much more.
For an example you can then tunnel your communication home over SSH, and secure services that would otherwise be insecure (VNC).
SSH also includes file transfer capabillities, but are a bit more tricky to use with Windows computers and keys containing passphrases. |
