Wondering if this is at all possible?

The aDSL2+ modem I'm using is currently configured to be a dumb modem not gateway, that's reserved for dd-wrt + wrt54 goodness Laughing
It's such a pain to; unplug modem from wan port, plug it directly into mac mini, reconfig the eth interface, just to get my aDSL2+ line speeds!

I guess a simpler procedure that might work is plug modem (192.168.1.254) into wrt54gs switch (192.168.1.1) and then try browsing to what is essentially a new LAN client? But that may require some reconfig on the modem end anyway!

Any advice as to how I can more easily get to the web interface of my aDSL modem, whilst retaining my wrt54gs as router/gw would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Jed

Yes, I am also interested with getting into the GUI of the modem without unplugging the LAN cable from the modem and the WAN port of the router. I have a Linksys WRT54Gv5.

Thanks, I will try this at some point!

Hopefully my modem will allow be to change the address space it uses (192.158.1.x).

If not I'm screwed I guess.

Not really. You can just change router's IP instead. The key is putting them on different networks.

If modem is 192.168.1.x, then you can make router 192.168.2.x or vice versa.
