For some unknown reasons, my router won't turn on again. Whenever I turn on the router, all lights turn green. I searched in the site and I found the following instructions:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Recover_from_a_Bad_Flash#Buffalo_WHR-HP-G54_JTAG

Will this work? I have a friend who uses a Linksys router (I think it is the WRT54G). He said the instructions posted on the site is not so complete. He said I need the memory address mapping for the flash rom. Is that true?

Help me!!! I am new to this stuffs.

Thanks.

That tutorial was written to help recover from a bad flash, is that what happened to your router. You did not specify what preceded it not working or if it just started doing that out of nowhere.

I did successfully flash the router with dd-wrt. Suddenly, it did not work one day when I was changing DHCP settings. The router hang. After rebooted the router, all lights turn green.

Pin shorting can cause permanent damage to the flash chip just unbrick it with a jtag cable and the jtag program if needed like any other router Linksys etc search the site.

Hi Shawn360,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have the jtag. Should I follow the same instructions:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Recover_from_a_Bad_Flash#Buffalo_WHR-HP-G54_JTAG

to unbrick my router?

Thanks.
