I just got a

DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/02/09) std
(SVN revision 11805M NEWD Eko)

and now I want to upgrade and was reading 30 Minutes. I know i cannot use NEWD2 but now there ist also no 13000 STD but a std BIG ? Is it the exchange for the usually used STD?

Anything else to know or just 30-30-30 to upgrade?

I had the problem 2-3 times that wireless was not working and a reset did not help. I fixed it by restore the configfile. So i guess something is not clean with the 11805m build.

Thanks in advance for the hints.

Please read the peacock announcement at the top of this forum carefully.

You cannot put "big" on that router. It only has 4mb flash. Put standard or mini on. Use build 12546, but read the announcements first.

With the GL, you have options. It'll take both the VINT and the NEWD firmware. If you must have the latest firmware, you could use Eko's dd-wrt.v24-13000_VINT_std.bin, but I would recommend Brainslayer's latest dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin from http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/09-24-09-r12966/broadcom. This has the NEWD driver.

Honestly, though, read the Peacock sticky for the recommended builds. Latest isn't always greatest (although the builds above are pretty stable)

For the GL, there's a very in depth guide for flashing at http://www.mandladventures.com/2007/04/12/how-to-flash-the-wrt54gl-with-dd-wrt-firmware/. No substitute for the Peacock sticky, though.

I am seeing fairly high wireless errors with the 12966 build....I suggest the 12874 or the 12548 build.
