So I get the feeling from my router that it is not working right or is working glitchy.

I just want to try and clear all settings/memory that I can to try to get it as close to as when I originally bought it as I can so I can start over.

What should I do?

What router and version do you have?
Is DD-WRT on it if so what version and build?
What exactly is the problem?

Well I just recently used tftp to recover it from a "restore factory default" gone wrong. And now I have installed dd-wrt v24 sp1 vpn on it and restored the nvram from before any problems. However now I am having problems that I'm not even sure about. Like I can browse some internet pages (this one) but not others. But then sometimes I can. And when I can it runs waaay slower than it should.

Router: WRT54G v3
Firmware: DD-WRT v24 SP1 VPN

Wonder if I can beat Shawn360....

You kind of went from a factory default gone wrong to a dd-wrt gone wrong when you installed SP1. Suspect no 30-30-30 reset after flashing, too.

Read the peacock thread sticky.... Gotta go..

Did I win?

You won Donny!

30/30/30 hard reset before and after each upgrade.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Hard_reset_or_30/30/30

Use this to update to a newer build of DD-WRT
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/V24_TNG/svn11296/dd-wrt.v24-11296_NEWD_openvpn.bin

30/30/30 hard reset before and after each upgrade.
Don't use any backup configuration files on this newer build enter your settings manually .
Don't restored anything from the previous build you had on your router.

Ok is SP1 not stable? Cause I went to downloads and in the stable sections there's SP1.

And I didn't think a hard reset was necessary if I had not touched the settings of the router.

Sorry to say you are wrong on both.

Ok another question:

I just upgraded to the firmware you suggested FROM the dd-wrt v24 sp1 vpn firmware. After I pressed upgrade, it popped up the 300 second countdown and then after a while (i wasn't watching) the screen goes white and on the bottom of IE it said "done but with errors on the page". Should I be worried about this?

The slow internet is also continueing with limited access to webpages. I'm not sure why I can access the dd-wrt.com site but not others.

well it says I've updated to the newer firmware. I have already done the 30/30/30 before and after now.

I'm just worried something is messed up now.

I can go to ebay.com but it times out when I try to go to myspace or facebook. Just for an example of whats happening

Aren't we all...

Don't think anything is messed up. You haven't had time to read the peacock thread sticky, and you should. It will tell you to clear your cache. Also, power cycle your router.

You should get a password renewal prompt if you did the 30-30-30 properly.

3 minutes Shawn? Are you getting old? Laughing

Alright I followed the instructions on the peacock thread.

The only thing I'm confused about now is why I can only access SOME websites.

Did you try fully clearing your browser cache? Try a different browser?

Seems to me I have seen this problem previously. Not sure what it was about. You might also try using opendns as your dns server. Check the wiki on how to do that....should be a opendns page.
