good to know, perhaps over-elaborating on this, are they at the same die-size? _________________ 2x WRT54G v5, 2x WRT54G v2

Difficult to say without a microscope or a complete datasheet but a good guess is that they have reduced the line width internally in order to speed it up.

Hello,
I have a wrt54g v1.1 router with the Intel TE28F320 - 4MB flash chip. My router has a bad flash chip and I want to replace it. The only reasonably priced chip I can find is this one at Mouser http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=SST39VF3202-70-4C-EKEvirtualkey51530000virtualkey804-39VF32027CEKE. It has identical specs to the intel chip, but I do not know if there will be any compatibility issues. The pins are all the same, but the ball points on the bottom seem to differ slightly, I am not sure if this is to be a problem when attaching it to the board, or when trying to flash it. I chose this one because it is supported by the jtag debrick utility btw.
If anyone can identify whether or not this chip will work please let me know!
firmware is firmware , cfe is cfe, and it is rare that a mfgr includes the cfe for update when doing a firmware update so it is almost never included in the update software. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
