I am sure this has been answered several times. I did search and read the peacock thread and several other threads. I am trying to flash my e3000 with DD-WRT and am looking at the best version.
Can i stay with the trailed build noted in the Peacock thread. Why would I want to put the e2k-e3k build such as the 15692 e2k-e3k.

OK, I followed the instruction at this link (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E3000#Flashing_instructions_for_the_E3000) to the dot including the 30-30-30 before and after flashing. I got to the console and changed my password. However, when I try to change the wireless settings, the default username and password are not working. Any help will be appreciated. thanks
I run E3000s for a number of clients commercially with build 15962.
To get them to flash, I burn the trialled build of dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-e3000-initial.bin
Then I wind it back to a 14929 build dd-wrt.v24-14929_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-e3000.bin or dd-wrt.v24-14929_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-e2k-e3k.bin (not too sure which) then burn dd-wrt.v24-15962_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-e2k-e3k.bin
That works for me. I have multiple OpenVPN pipes, Milkfish, Subnetted QoS, 3-4 port based VLANs and a bunch of port forwards for anything up to 70 end points (phones, PCs, servers) and they cope. (Hard to believe) CPU sits at < 8%
I am currently trialling build 18946 as the 19327 has a broken OpenVPN
