experiment.. all conditions are different. I would look for the "flux capacitor" though. _________________[Moderator Deleted]

Ok... You guys want to know how to boost the signal.. Here goes..
You can't.. That router is a POS neutered router with little POS internal antenna's. You are stuck.
Return it if you can.
Is that answer any better? _________________[Moderator Deleted]

Turning up the power typically creates more noise and doesn't really improve the signal quality. Thats why it was recommended to turn the power down.
Better antennas gives better results than just cranking up the power.
Like I told the other guy, you have to experiment as not all conditions and surroundings are equil.
Modding that unit would cost as much if not more than getting a different router with detachable external antennas.
See if it helps if you put it up on top of a bookshelf or something with no metal nearby. _________________[Moderator Deleted]

How many threads do we have open on this G2V1 Tx issue...I just responded to another one.
Get a better router if you need more range. The internal antennas on this unit are HORRIBLE.

I don't know if this is a problem or not but..
on my ipod touch I was testing the distance before I connected to the network. I went as far as I could see the network there.
but then when I actually connect to the network(type password in), I am able to refresh the networks(mine was the only one there), and was able to see it from maybe 25 more feet away.
But the problem is that when I am at that farther distance, after a minute or so, the connection goes away, and I cant access the internet.
I can only access the internet if i go closer Ie within the distance originally before I connected to the network.
is there anything that can be done?
is this a problem?

how far are you (total distance) from the router?
how much garbage (trees, buildings, cars, etc) is in the way?
if you can safely take your ipod touch to that distance and then see what the router says the signal strength is then. pretty much anything less than 10% isnt going to work. _________________ 2x WRT54G v5, 2x WRT54G v2
