Hrm unsure at this point, i know the buffalo_to_ddwrt_webflash-MULTI.bin is what you would use in a de-bricking.

The way i would do this is erase nvram and then tftp the buffalo_to_ddwrt_webflash-MULTI.bin when it is time.

@ ksjuggalo : you must not have read my post very carefully. What i bolded is what you must have missed, the buffalo_to_ddwrt_webflash-MULTI.bin is for de-bricking as well, which in the case of the issue at hand is what the OP would need to do after a serial 'erase nvram' then TFTP the buffalo_to_ddwrt_webflash-MULTI.bin to the router.

Also TFTP is very easy in WinXP. As i also stated in a page back..

The way i tftp to these atheros buffalo units on WinXP is..

1) disable LAN within networking on windows, then with it still disabled, set its IP to 192.168.11.2

2) re-enable the LAN once the IP is set, then add an arp entry like so..

arp -s 192.168.11.1 02-AA-BB-CC-DD-1A [enter]

Then have the tftp command line ready to go with..

tftp -i 192.168.11.1 put buffalo_to_ddwrt_webflash-MULTI.bin (i would use build 16214 to do this with)

Unplug the router, then plug back in and count to 10, then hit enter on the tftp, if you get a success msg wait no less than 6 minutes (the diag light will go off and the wifi light will begin to blink when its fully flashed)

That method has worked everytime for me with no fail.

When I had to recover mine I was forced to use the OpenWRT TFTP image because of ddWRT magic number issues.

Once on OpenWRT you can go back to ddWRT using the MTD flash method.

I have two question regarding the latest dd-wrt alpha from Buffalo:

1) Does it fix the WAN port problem where you have to insert a gigabit switch between the router and ISP's modem as a workaround?

Apparently not. I was attempting to deploy a WZR-HP-G300NH earlier this week and, except for an occasional couple of seconds, the WAN interface would not pass data. The ISP could see the WZR-HP-G300NH's MAC address and their circuit tested good. The ISP's equipment is an Adtran NetVanta 814. I tried a unit with dd-wrt on Tuesday (can't remember build number) and a unit with Buffalo dd-wrt Alpha build 16783 today. Both units exhibited the same behavior.

I remembered reading your post asking about this problem, so I connected a Gigabit switch between the NetVanta and the WZR-HP-G300NH and the circuit came up. I don't feel comfortable using a workaround, though, so I tore the equipment down and will replace the WZR-HP-G300NH with something else.

I have four other WZR-HP-G300NH units deployed and they haven't exhibited any problems. At least two of them are connected to Adtran equipment, but I don't know the Adtran model numbers.

I am running the most recent ddwrt alpha build from buffalo, and have been noticing the last few days that the router will spontaneously reboot in the middle of the day. Is there any good way for me to debug what is causing this?

Tried 17766, still doesn't have the reliability of pre-Ath9K builds, still dropping connections during transfers with G clients. Where did you find this build?

Update:

Have tested 17766 more, Wiviz Survey is finally working with Ath9k, delighted with that. Seems to be stable other than the disconnects mentioned above with some G clients, even then it re-associates immediately.

Got the same router, did an upgrade to the latest Buffalo code.

My laptop, a Dell Lattitude E6400 with the broadcom WIFI has behaved non-stop badly since. It's maybe 20 feet from the router, 1 floor down from the router, and never had the kind of problems when I was on an old WRTG54G2N.

Windows XP, basically, the Dell will connect to the AP, and sometime between 30 seconds and 6 minutes, it will disconnect and remove the WEP key. Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot. I'm almost ready to put the linksys back online. Disconnecting is one thing. DC'ing and removing the WEP key. Bah.

Ideas?

If you look at the change log there's nothing interesting apart from a few 3g modems added and a few wireless disconnect bug fixes.

Thanks for the DD-Wrt updated build BTW

Has anyone successfully set up a client bridge with this router?

I've been trying different version of openwrt, gargoyle, the buffalo firmware and ddwrt (17461) and have not had success with any of them.

DD-WRT 17461 has come the closest, with everything working for about 15 seconds before I lose internet connectivity. I still have connectivity between the devices on both routers though.

I really don't care about anything else apart from making this work as a client bridge (repeater not required). Any tips on how to make this work?

Cheers,
Peter

I have successfully set a client bridge on my b0 b0 WZR-HP-G300NH:
-wifi set to client bridge
-IP is in same segment as primary router
-GW & DNS set to primary router's IP,
and all wired clients conneted to repeater are functionnig normally.

I need repeater bridge - all this as explained + repeating wifi signal.
This is not working quite normal because wifi clients (via repeater bridge) dont get DHCP from primary router (no Internet).
