I know I'm just one more on the pile but I've had this router for a bit and I already have dd-wrt on a wrtsl54gs but this belkin has gigabit lan and 802.11n! I'd be really excited to see dd-wrt on this device. I'm not in a position to send anything but if there were something else to be done let me know.

It will be nice to when something comes out for this router as this thing out of the box is junk.

The wireless power has been horrid. My old Linksys wrt54gs was such a better router. I have basically just been using this router for the GB ports. Very sad deal...

Hopefully through some re-programming this can be useful. Is there anything out there to make this thing useful?

Okay, folks. I've been cruising this topic for several months. I even went and plunked down the cabbage for this Belkin after seeing a bit of interest in a dd-wrt port (not unlike others here, i'm sure). I think we can all agree this thing (f5d8235-v2) is somewhat pathetic running with the tinker-toy grade firmware with which it ships. I, for one, would love to see the dd-wrt port to this device (if possible).

Sash, I'm willing to plunk down cash, or even send you a unit to get this going. I saw that Brian (aka Brackb01) and OneUpDave have already pledged resources to this mini-project. Are you swamped with work and/or school? Is there anything we should/can do to help out?

Hi guys, newbie here... don't wanna annoy anyone, but is there any progress on porting dd-wrt to N+?
Its bad for this router to not being able to have some advanced options, since it has such a GOOD range and gigabit switch, USB, etc...
just hope there will be some progress soon..

cheers,
and thanks everyone for their effort on enabling this port Smile

I think that, at best, this project is postponed!
Dont know if someone donated the device, but there isn't any word from sash or netfreq! :(

@netfreq
have you tried to send it? Smile

Hey Parlae,

I have not. I was planning to give the ol' chap a ring first at the number they provide on their commercial invoice (+49 6251 582650). Their address to send is...

NewMedia-NET GmBH
Berliner Ring 101
64625 Bensheim
Germany

I'll let you know how I get on with this.

It looks like "v2" and "v2000" are one and the same.

MODS: Should we merge the other thread ( http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=69165 ) into this one?

Copy of my reply there:
Quote:

I have the same router, and have now obtained serial console.
Every RT3052 firmware I've tried has failed in different ways:
Airlink101 ar690w webflash: bad magic number
Asus-RTN13U: boots, but has wrong mtd partitions (and thus fails later on)
Senao ECB9750: LZMA ERROR 1 - must RESET board to recover

Most of those I've tried, I've had to chop headers off of, but they give the LZMA ERROR.

I'd really like to be able to use dd-wrt on the thing!

I used this guide for serial console:

I have an F5D8235-4 v2000 unit. I too am not in the position to donate my router because I'm still using it and I'm relying on it working from home. But if there are enough people want to chip in to get a unit for the developers, so we can have the great dd-wrt firmware running on our routers, count me in.

I have this same router and i cant stand the belkin firmware.

I have an issue where my iphone 4 says its connected to the router, yet it cant access the internet or even the routers ip address. What i have to do is turn the wifi off and then on to fix it, it seems like a huge pain!
Does anyone else have this issue? I figure it is the routers problem.

Anyway does we know if anyone is working on this? I see the previous post that someone is working on it but they are no with dd wrt.

Just want to know if we can expect support for this router. Thanks

the v2 (ralink rt3052) based device is now working and tested. attached the firmware which can be installed directly from belkin web interface.
features like nas/samba/ftp are included as well as 3g/umts support.

do not install any other firmware than this. the realtek 8366rb switch is very special. so use only the firmware made for this device. otherwise ethernet wont work
